Bernhard the Tiler – Dynasty Gem PL

Bernhard is a second-generation tiler who has tiled in many private homes across Victoria as well as local businesses in the Murrindindi and Mansfield shires.

He is a second-generation tiler whose mentor was a master tiler in Germany, Horst Muller.
His own father, Bert, has tiled in Melbourne and Mt. Buller (up until his death), and many of the tiling works remain to this day.

Bernhard has a Cert 3 in waterproofing and has been tiling since he was 16.
At one stage, working in an industrial tiling factory in Melbourne and laying tiles after hours with his father, he understands tiles, their glaze, and clay properties.

Bernhard’s works include caravan parks, blocks of units, factories, new homes, homesteads, shops, workshops, extensions, renovations,
retirement villages, alpine resorts (Mt Buller & Lake Mountain), day spas, B&Bs, cottages, pools both inside and paving surrounds, artwork installations, and houseboats.

Also, at award-winning homes and holiday homes in Phillip Island, Inverloch, Drouin, Sandy Point, Metung, Lakes Entrance, and here in Murrindindi and Mansfield.

The Vibe in Marysville (now known as Peppers in Marysville) is one example of work involving rock, and his paving is featured at the entranceway to the Alexandra Police station.

Community works:

Art in the Environment:
3 artists and 3 communities resulted in 3 community art spaces and sculptures in 2003.
Bernhard assisted Artist Lisa Rudd in her installation in the Yea Wetlands with the Flat Plat by laying the hand-painted and decorated tiles created by the local school children.
Bernhard assisted Artist Bruno Torfs in his installation of the Fisherman in the grassed area in the Eildon Shopping Centre by laying the tile works around the sculpture.

The tiling in the kitchen and toilets in the halls upgrade project 2013.
The installation of the wood-fired pizza oven with brick mason John Moss. 2015
